the journal

"Not dead enough" is what I believe a friend said to me when I managed to post my chibi commission, lol. I've been absent on DA and from doing any art for a while ... University is hectic lol, and I'm currently having the luxury of looking forward to the end of semester exams (note the sarcasm) XP.

Other than starting to do some commissions, I've been reading a bit of fanfiction ... and dying horrendously under a mountain of University work ^^;. I've also come across a few meme's and, horror/shock, I'm getting the urge to do one lol ^^. I'm such a sad sad person lol.


art thieves

Here I was, reading a friends' journal when I notice that she's gotten very upset that art thieves have targeted some very talented artists. Art thieves should go and commit seppuku *grrrr*!! =alexiuss has been forced to deal with far too much; a "professional" design studio stealing his work and another involving a magazine. Sometimes people can be terrible.

Even artists' actual IDENTITIES are being stolen; *innera is having this problem right now. Do what you can to help these artists out, post the news of art thieves on your journal!

there has been a rash of thefts latly, both art and identity. there were 2 cosplayers, a Riku and a Sora, from here on dA who had their identities stolen by someone on SA, setting up 2 accounts under each of their names and passing themselves off as them

agreed. Total BS if you as me. They think they wont get into trouble cause Copyright does not apply to the internet...

Copyright might not get them, but other artists will lol; it can get pretty nasty too, but in the end they deserve it. You don't steal art. If they really wanted to be like their favorite artists or whatever, then they should put the effort in and do their own artwork or photos... but they generally just want the "fame" and not have to work for it; lazy people...

ah but copyright can get them, as it does apply on the net.

yeah, some are just cheap and lazy and would rather steal the time and effort of someone else rather than use their own

It's pretty hard to catch them legally through the internet though isn't it? I'm pretty sure it's hard, that's why most people just send legions of flamers to them XD.

not really. it is mainly an issue of contacting the host, and they would be more than glad to help you cause they can get into trouble for even hosting the images
